Abigail Savopoulos, her mother, and her brother were held for nineteen hours at their home on 14th May 2015. 

Philip, a ten-year-old boy, was subject to torture and was offered $40,000 as ransom. The murderer tied the family members and Veralicia Figueroa with duct tape and then shot them. 

The family’s blue Porsche was also taken and later burned in a Maryland church parking lot. The house was then set on fire.

After Jordan Wallace, an assistant delivered the cash to the family, the perpetrators took $40,000, which is equivalent to $46,000 in 2021, in cash.

The Savopoulos home in Northwest Washington caught on fire and firefighters were called. The bodies of three members of the Savopoulos household and their housekeeper were discovered by firefighters.

Daron Wint was convicted of numerous offenses on 25th Oct 2018. They included kidnapping Abigail Savopoulos’ brothers Philip and murdering them in their home. 

Daron Wint has been sentenced to four consecutive terms of life without the possibility of parole.

Police determined that the fire had been intentionally lit and that the victims sustained blunt force and stabbing wounds. They subsequently labeled the deaths as homicides.
